1. Your files

PDF files you open in this tool are processed entirely within your web browser, on your own device. They are not transmitted to us or to anyone else. We do not receive them, store them, examine them or retain any copy, because no mechanism exists by which they could reach us.

Files you load are held in your browser's memory for the duration of your visit and discarded when you close or reload the page.

2. Information collected automatically

Like nearly all websites, this site is served by a hosting provider that records standard technical information for each request, including IP address, browser type, referring page and time of access. This is used for security and to keep the site running.

3. Cookies and advertising

This site displays advertising supplied by third parties, including Google. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.

Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and other sites on the internet. You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of third-party vendor cookies at aboutads.info.

Third-party vendors and ad networks may also serve ads on this site and may themselves set cookies. We do not control these cookies and cannot access the data they collect.

4. Analytics

This site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits and see which pages are useful. It is cookieless, does not fingerprint you, and does not follow you to other websites. It records the page address, the referring site, and general details such as browser, device type and country.

Separately, the compression tools keep a few anonymous counters about how they are used — which target sizes are asked for, whether the target was reached, and roughly how long a job took. These are rounded into ranges before they are stored, so a counter reads like “a 101–200 KB target, reached, 2–5 seconds”. Nothing derived from your file is included: not its name, not its contents, not its exact size.

These counters do not leave your device. They are kept in your browser's local storage and are not transmitted anywhere. If that ever changes, this page will say so before it does. You can switch them off entirely by enabling “Do Not Track” in your browser, and clearing your browsing data for this site erases them.

5. Visitors in the European Economic Area and United Kingdom

If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, a consent message is shown before any non-essential cookies are set, and your choice is honoured. That message is provided by Google’s certified consent management platform, and offers three options: consent, do not consent, or manage individual purposes. You can reopen it and change or withdraw your choice at any time through the consent tool itself; clearing this site’s data in your browser also resets it.

You have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data held about you, and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Requests may be sent to the address on the contact page. Note that because your files never reach us, we hold no copies of your documents to disclose or delete.

6. Visitors in California

We do not sell personal information as defined by the California Consumer Privacy Act. You may request disclosure of the categories of personal information collected about you via the contact page.

7. Children

This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

8. Changes

This policy may be updated. Material changes will be reflected in the date at the top of this page.
